Our  Jennets
Welcome to K and K Ranch's Miniature Donkeys!

We have spent a good deal of time selecting our jennets. Most of these jennets were raised on our ranch as yearlings and possess the qualities we are looking for. We look for characteristics that will cross well with our jacks. Our goal is to produce donkey's with excellent conformation and movement, good bone, straight legs, and an over all balanced frame. We place importance on a good, sound disposition, and feel this is important to the breed.

Gray & White Spotted Jennet
DOB:  10/17/04
Birth Height: 21.25"

Sire:  Circle C Highlite, 32" Brown/Gray/White Spot
      Grand Sire: Desperado of Circle C, 29" Light Brown
      Grand Dam: RVB Carrie, 33" Gray/White Spot

      Grand Sire:  Hartman's Trenton, 33.5" Few Spot White
      Grand Dam:   R&D D&H Milly, 33.5" Brown/Gray-Dun

The minute StarLite was born I knew she was special. Her dam has done well in the show ring, and StarLite has the conformation and build that I am breeding donkeys for. Plus she loves people. StarLite has a beautiful head like her sire, the most perfect set of legs I could ask for, and is built like a little tank. She will be shown until she is old enough to join our brood jennets.

News Flash!! Her first time shown StarLite wins her age division halter class and then stands ACOSA Grand National Jennet at The Great Celebration Mule & Donkey Show July, 2005!

News Flash! Starlite placed 2nd in her halter class at the 2006 NMDA Nationals!! There were around 30 entries in this class.

News Flash! Starlite wins 1st in the 2 & 3 Year Old Jennet class and stands Grand Champion Jennet at the 2007 NMDA Nationals in Oregon!!

StarLite is bred to Arcadians Yogi for a September 2009 foal. This will be her first foal.

DOB: 8/28/99

Sire:  Heiken's Ark Top Gun, 29" Dark Brown
      Grand Sire:  McLendon's 45 Magnum, 28.75" Dark Brown
      Grand Dam:  Heiken's Ark Golden, 30.25" Dark Brown

Dam:  Wind Song's Louise, 32.75" Black w/nlp
      Grand Sire:  Windsong's Sully, 34" Gray-Dun
      Grand Dam:  Windsong's Thelma, 35" Brown

Lucia is a beautiful jennet with outstanding conformation. She has the sweetest, most laid back disposition, and her foals have done really well in the show ring.

Bred to Sunset Acres Rowdy Yates for a March 2004 baby. Update! Lucia foaled a black jack on 3/12/04, KKR Good As Gold. Visit our 'foal' page to see him! Gold was shown at 6 months and won his halter class, and then stood Grand Champion Jack at the NMDA Tennessee State Fair!!

Update: In 2006 KKR Good As Gold won his halter class as a 2 year old and stood Grand Champion Jack again at the NMDA Tennessee State Fair.

We have rebred Lucia for a spring of 2006 foal to Rowdy again and are hoping for another foal as good as Gold!

Update! Lucia foaled a black jennet on 1/05/06 @ 4am. KKR IsABell, Izzy has started her show career off with a bang. She stood Grand Champion Junior Donkey at the ADMS Nationals in 2006. She placed 4th in a very large class of foals at the NMDA Nationals, and was Reserve Champion Jennet at the NMDA Tennessee State Fair.

Lucia foaled a gorgeous blue/black jack in April 2007, KKR King's Ransom. Ransom is now part of my show string, and is doing really well. He will be taught to drive when he is old enough.

May 2008 Lucia foal another beautiful black jack, Black Swede. He has been sold to Cindy Benson in Oregon.

      Grand Sire:  Rainbow's Switzer, 33" Brown
      Grand Dam:  DMF Dottie, 31.5" Gray-Dun

Stolen Lottie, as our webmaster calls her since I bought her before she could, is as sweet a jennet as I've ever seen. Her nickname is "Rooty" because she will root under your arm until you stop and pet her. Lottie is a nice drafty little jennet, with a beautiful head, great markings, a nice round rear end, wide chest, and straight legs. She is one of my favorite jennets, not just because of her personality, but because of her conformation and what she has produced for me.

News Flash!!! Lottie was Reserve National ACOSA Champion Jennet at the Nationals in Shelbyville, Tennessee, June 29th, 2002, with 19 entries in her class!! She was 2nd in 2003 in the 2 and over spotted jennet class.

Lottie foaled a gorgeous spotted jennet, KKR StarLite, on 10/17/04 out of Circle C HighLite. StarLite will be shown and retained for our breeding program. Update! Starlite was the 2005 ACOSA National Champion Jennet. She placed 2nd at the 2006 NMDA Nationals in a very large class (around 30) in Yearling Jennets at Halte.

Lottie was bred back to Flight of Fancy Cardinal RG in March 2005. Lottie foaled a sorrel & white masked spotting factor jack, KKR High Roller. We have decided to geld Roller and will be retaining him to show. He is really nice!

Lottie has been bred to Arcadians Yogi for an October 2009 foal.

      Grand Sire:  My World Buster, 30.25" Dark Red (Sorrel)
      Grand Dam:  PGF Rhubarb, 31.5" Gray-Dun

Dam:  R&D D&H Cinderella, 32.5" Black/White Spotted

      Grand Sire:  Hartman Donkey's Trenton, 33.5" Brown/White Spot
      Grand Dam:  R&D D&H Lucy, 34" Gray-Dun

Cinderbelle is by far one of our favorites. Although she was spoiled when I got her, she is spoiled here too. I can't take all the credit. She would rather be with people than with other donkeys. Cinderbelle is just gorgeous. She has a beautiful head, exceptionally straight legs, tracking perfectly, and she shows lots of width in her chest. Thanks Windcrest Acres in Batavia, Ohio, for this great little donkey!

News Flash!! Cinderbelle was 4th in the NMDA 2 Year Old Jennet Class at the Nationals in Shelbyville, Tennessee, June 27th, 2002, with over 20 entries!!!

Cinderbelle was 5th at the State Fair of Texas Miniature Donkey Show September 29th, 2002, in the 2 Year Old & Over Jennet class with 20 entries!

Dallas Stare Fair September 2003:  Cinderbelle won the Jennets 2 and Over Halter Class and came back to win Reserve Model Donkey of the show!

Cinderbelle foaled a tiny brown jack on 10/10/04 sired by Little Magic. He looks like an exact replica of his dam.

Update: KKR Hanky Panky wins Reserve Grand Champion Jack at the Calgary Stampede. Hank has numerous ribbons in trail and halter.

Cinderbelle was bred to Rowdy May 2005. In June of 2006 Cinderbelle foaled a black with no stripe jennet, KKR Midnight Harp. Harp is being retained to add to our breeding program. Harp will begin her show career in 2007.

CinderBelle foaled a beautiful black/brown jennet in October 2007, KKR Fancy That. Fancy is already winning in the show ring in both halter and trail. CinderBelle is bred to Rowdy for a February 2009 foal.

30" Gray/White Spot Jennet
DOB: 9/29/94

Sire:  Garrett's Silver Fox, 32.75" Gray/White Spot

Dam: Shady Acres Muffin, 32" Gray

"Boo" has retained her great conformation through five foals. She is square and drafty and she is a long time producer of show quality donkeys with her same outstanding build. Boo has produced:

Windcrest Little Trinket, a show winner;

Windcrest Little Chanelle, a show winner;

Windcrest Sky's The Limit, who stood Grand National ACOSA Spotted Jack at the Eastern Nationals in June 2002;

Windcrest Over the Top, her 2002 loud colored spotted jack foal;

Windcrest April Charm, her 2004 dark spotted jennet.

Windcrest Destiny, her 2005 jack foal, and a full brother to April Charm.

Boo is bred to Rowdy for a May 2007 foal. This should be an outstanding foal and we are really excited about it.

Sunny is a very drafy, well built jennet. She is one of my favorites. She has a sweet disposition, shows lots of bone and is very wide in the chest and rear. I'd like to have a herd of donkeys just like her. Sunny has been bred to Rowdy for a May 2007 foal. We're really looking forward to this foal. Update! Autumn had a jennet foal on 4/28/07!

Dam: Stoney Acres Autumn Pride, 34" Dark Brown
     Grand Sire: Chevez of Circle C, 34" Brown
     Grand Dam: SAR Gemma, 32.25" Gray/White Spotted

Petals is bred to Rowdy for an October 2009 foal. I would expect this to be a black foal with a white nose. She is an easy breeder and had no trouble with foaling. Petals has the most beautiful head, short and wide in the forehead with a big star. She has a good rear end and wide chest, her legs are straight and she is as sweet as they come. Petels was shown by her breeder Dave Larson in the Yearling Jennet Halter Class at the World Miniature Donkey Show in Calgary and she placed in the top ten with no training and no previous showing experience.

Abby is very drafty, straight legs, big round rear end and a chest to die for! She is as sweet as can be. I really love this donkey. Abby will be bred to Rowdy for an April 2009 foal. This ought to be a really good cross.

I just love the Trenton line and Tillie is a daughter of Trenton. This line throws such great legs on their foals! Tillie is as sweet as they come. She has the black,brown spots that are so popular and she has a beautiful spot pattern. Tillie has wonderful conformation, and a beautiful short wide head.

      Grand Sire: Heinken's Ark Top Gun, 29" Dark Brown
      Grand Dam:   Windsong's Louise, 32.75" Black w/NLP

Izzy is a blue/black with light points and no visible stripe. She is really, really black! A very straight girl who is a full sister to a black jack, KKR Good As Gold, that I showed at The 2004 Tennessee State Fair and who won Grand Champion Jack against all ages when he was only 6 months old! I knew she was going to be a nice donkey the day she was born. She just had that 'look' about her. She has a really pretty head, beautiful, straight legs, with perfect tracking, and is really upheaded and showy. Izzy is beautiful to watch in the pasture and the show ring.

IsaBell will be shown until she is old enough to be added to our breeding program.

News Flash! KKR IsaBell wins her class and Grand Champion Junior Donkey at the ADMS Nationals in 2006. She also wins Reserve Champion Jennet against all ages at the 2006 NMDA Tennessee State Fair Show. IsaBell wins 1st place in the Dallas NMDA foal class, and places 2nd in the foal class at the NMDA Nationals in Shelbyville, her first time shown.

New News Flash!!! IsaBell wins the yearling class and stands Grand Champion Junior Jennet at the 2007 NMDA Nationals in Oregon!!

Ten is a full sister to Ciara, NMDA Champion & Best of Breed winner, owned by Mike & Loydene Brown. I just love this jennet. She has an awesome front and rear end on her, very full hindquarters, and has the most beautiful head you could ask for. You couldn't ask for a better temperament. You can do anything with her. She is trained for halter and trail obstacles. Ten has really matured this last year and I am so happy to be able to add her to my herd. Thank You Wayne & Wendy at Stonegate Acres for allowing Ten to stay with me.

I fell in love with Party the minute I saw her. Party has wonderful conformation, wide & straight with great bone. And her color is very striking. One of my favorite colors. Party has a short wide head, and is very alert and heads up. She is sweet as can be, with a wonderful temperament. Nothing phases her, she just takes it in stride. I'm really happy to be able to add Party to my herd and think she will cross well with my jacks when she is old enough.

Fancy is one of my favorite babies. She is just like her mom in personality, and very sweet. She never meets a stranger. I took her to the Texas Shoot Out for her first show and she won the class out of 30 something entries. I have started her in obstacles and she is really doing well. Fancy is a well built little girl and I expect her to be a lot like her dam. She is wide bodied, with good bone and a pretty head. She is actually black when I keep her out of the sun. I'm looking forward to showing her over the next couple years before I add her to my herd.
